Hyperoil
INTERACTIVE DRESSINGS FOR SKIN LESIONS AND WOUNDS
Hyperoil® products are Class IIb medical devices, plant-based, advanced dressings indicated for preventing and treating skin injuries and alterations. They assist skin tissue regeneration and repair in acute and chronic (including infected) injuries, thanks to the barrier effect of its plant-based formulation with Hypericum and Neem.

ANTISEPTIC ACTION
controls the bacterial load
REGENERATING ACTION
promotes the repair of injured skin
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTION
protects the skin tissue

Hyperoil® Brand
Hyperoil® was born from the research and development of extraction, production and combination technologies of the active ingredients of the two plants of Neem and Hypericum. Hyperoil® comes in two formulations: oily, suitable for treating deep, irregular and more severe lesions, especially in the acute phase, and gel, suitable in the granulation and re-epithelialization phase of lesions, more or less severe.
Due to the properties of the active ingredients in the formulation, Hyperoil® products promote:
- A supportive action in the repair and regeneration of damaged skin.
- Control of the bacterial load (antiseptic properties).
- Protection of injured or reddened skin tissue.

Why Hyperoil® can make a difference in sanitation emergencies?
With Hyperoil®, there is no need to use other medical supplies. Its antiseptic power avoids the use of local antibiotics and reduces or eliminates systemic ones; this possibility, under emergency conditions, can make a huge difference. Moreover, even if you cannot adequately cover the wound, as you would under normal sanitary conditions, the product can still protect the wound and promote healing. One can cleanse the wound and dress it with Hyperoil® alone, proceeding with proper dressing even in the absence of clean water. In the 2010 Haiti earthquake, for example, the use of Hyperoil® made it possible to resolve several injuries and avoid numerous amputations, even though it was a situation with precarious, almost disastrous sanitary conditions.
What is the difference in use between GEL and OILY formulation?
The oily and gel formulations of Hyperoil® have different concentrations of active ingredients, making them suitable for different needs. The oily formulation, which is more concentrated, is suitable for deeper and more complex wounds, as it penetrates better into hard to reach tissues and supports the cleansing phase, which is necessary in more severe wounds. The gel, with a lower concentration of active ingredients, is more suitable for less deep and regular wounds, or for those that need more hydration.
As the wound enters the granulation phase and new tissue is more delicate, gel becomes ideal as it provides more measured stimuli to promote healing. In some cases, you can start with the oily formulation and then switch to the gel to speed up the recovery process.
The use of gel is also recommended when it is difficult to keep the oily formulation on the wound. In these situations, medicated gauze can be used to improve the permanence of the product on the wound.
Which formulation of Hyperoil® is best to choose?
In general, all formulations are good for treating an injury in terms of efficacy.
This is a choice that in theory should be made by the specialist based on the assessment of the lesion, but the simplicity of Hyperoil® allows to proceed equally in the operation of applying the device, keeping in mind only a few simple rules:
- INJURY in the INFLAMMATION phase or also called cleansing phase (various colors on the lesion)
1. deep lesion with hard-to-reach parts → OILY formulation
2. superficial or medium-deep lesion easy to reach all over → GEL formulation
3. with the doubt of not being able to reach every part of it → OILY formulation
4. superficial lesion → GEL formulation or GAUZES
In each of these cases, the amount should be sufficient to cover the lesion, including the perilesional margin. However, an even veil of it is sufficient. - LESION in the GRANULATION stage: the reparative process begins (red color definitely predominates, with button lesion tissue), proceed as in step 1, 2, 3, 4. The amount of product should, however, be reduced, either by switching from Hyperoil® OIL to GEL or from GEL to Hyperoil® gauze alone, or by reducing the amount of Hyperoil® OIL or GEL if gel has been used from the beginning. If you are unable to assess whether or not the lesion is improving, you should consult with the physician attending to your lesion care before changing the formulation.
- LESION in the REPITELIZING stage: the reparative process of the most superficial part of the lesion begins, this becomes pink gradually lighter as in steps 1, 2, 3, 4. The reduction in the amount of product to be used continues, while maintaining, however, the total coverage of the perilesional margin always with a thin veil of product.
How to reduce the amount of product to be applied during wound healing?
It is necessary to reduce the amount of product applied so that it is still sufficient to touch the entire lesion, especially those parts where the lesion is not yet bright red. The veil of OIL or GEL may also not be completely continuous and uniform, except for the perilesional margin, which should instead be evenly covered always with a thin veil of product. Because managing the application of a small amount of product with the OILY formulation is more difficult, it becomes more practical, as the lesion improves, to switch to the GEL, unless there are still hard-to-reach areas (the OILY formulation has a greater ability to penetrate). If, on the other hand, one has started with the GEL, because of its consistency, it will not be difficult to decrease the amount and manage its application to the various areas of the lesion.
Why is Hyperoil® more than just a healing aid?
Hyperoil® promotes regeneration of injured tissues. Tissue regeneration does not contemplate scarring: the replacement tissue tends to regain its original elasticity and consistency, the skin adnexa regain their previous functionality, leaving at most a local discoloration (color difference) in the area affected by the injury, once complete healing is achieved.
Hyperoil® first and foremost promotes tissue regeneration, and it is only when optimal regeneration is now unattainable due to the extent, particularity, and seniority of the injury, the severe pathophysiological context, and, above all, as a result of incorrect and ineffective previous therapies, that its action declines to adjuvant healing.
It is, however, the stimulus to tissue regeneration that allows Hyperoil® to still promote healing of a chronic injury, even if only by scarring and despite the fact that it was impossible before that time.
Is keeping the injured surface hydrated a unique feature of Hyperoil® or a general feature of advanced dressings?
All advanced dressings are such because they act in a moist environment. This is one of the fundamental definitions for an advanced dressing. In fact, Hyperoil®, as an advanced dressing, keeps the wound hydrated by progressively regulating tissue secretions as well as the repair process requires. What Hyperoil® does additionally is to be able to directly and independently bring a moist environment to the wound; if a wound is dry, Hyperoil® is able to hydrate it so as to bring it back to healing. Other dressings moisturize wounds indirectly, taking advantage of tissue evaporation, but because of this they require continuous monitoring to prevent maceration of healthy tissue around the wound. Hyperoil®, on the other hand, always preserves healthy perilesional tissue while hydrating the wound.
Why prefer Hyperoil® to other products?
Because it makes it possible to promote healing of both deep, large, infected wounds and less severe wounds. Because it is very easy to use, thus representing the ideal self-medication in the case of wounds of many kinds.
Why does it allow people to avoid topical steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (cortisone ointments)?
This type of anti-inflammatory causes the arrest of the scarring process, torpid sores, bacterial and fungal superinfections. The active ingredients in Hyperoil® are extracts from Neem and Hypericum, which, as is historically known and scientifically verified and justified, have long been used as medicinal plants in the treatment of tissue injuries, both for their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Therefore, there is no justification for using an anti-inflammatory product that may create problems for wound healing when the use of Hyperoil® helps to resolve the inflammatory process while promoting the proper unfolding of each phase of wound repair.
Do we need to recognize the stages of a wound to know when to decrease the amount of product to apply?
Recognizing the 3 stages of healing of a lesion is not essential using Hyperoil®, as all formulations can be applied in each of them; we just need to be able to recognize when a lesion is improving. This is because it is useful to decrease the amount of product as the lesion improves, and that is to accompany its healing with the most correct amount of product, so as to speed up the repair as much as possible.
What secondary dressings should be used during treatment with Hyperoil®?
Alternatives for covering the wound after Hyperoil® application depending on the amount of exudate possible or present in the wound are:
On highly secreting lesions:
- absorbent pads
- absorbent pads + TNT gauze → average 2/3
- super absorbent tablets
- many TNT gauze → average 4/5 or more
On moderately secreting lesions it is advisable to apply:
- absorbent pads
- TNT gauze → medium ¾
On lesions with little secretion it is advisable to apply:
- TNT gauze → average 2/3
Gauze pads can be blocked with breathable plaster and secured with cohesive elastic crepe bandages.
To cover, and thus to protect and promote absorption, it is theoretically better to use tighter weave gauze, while to cleanse, it is better to use wider weave ones.
If the application of Hyperoil® and the subsequent covering operation are performed correctly, Hyperoil® will not alter the peri-lesional skin and will be atraumatic at dressing changes.
